The MMHC is planning to produce a cookbook. MMHC chefs submit your mushroom recipes to philt@umich.edu if you would like to have your recipe included. The Cookbook Committee will be selecting recipes for inclusion.
Feel free to include a photo/s of the dish and/or the mushrooms.
Please follow the below format when you submit a recipe:

For Example:
Black Trumpet Spread
This has frequently been served as an appetizer at MMHC events.
2 cups dried black trumpets (Craterellus cornucopiodes)
Hot tap water to cover
~4 tbs butter
8 oz. goat cheese
2 baguettes
Extra virgin olive oil for spritzing
Soak trumpets in hot tap water for 15-20 minutes. Wring out trumpets and reserve soaking water for other recipes. Saute trumpets in butter until just beginning to brown. Place trumpets and goat cheese in a food processor; process until smooth.
Slice baguettes into ¼ to 3/8 inch
slices. Toast then spritz with olive oil
on one side. Serve with a knife for
spreading.
Although I have always prepared this with plain trumpets, an alternate approach would be to mince some garlic or shallots for sautéing with the mushrooms.
