CHANTERELLE FORAY
LEWISTON AUGUST 6th, 7th, and 8th

This is a new event in 2010 and it is hoped that it is as well received and fun as our springtime morel weekend. This is a summertime getaway to northern Michigan with the hopes of finding plenty of chanterelle mushrooms to compliment many meals this winter... if they last that long in your pantry. We hope that you can join us on this little adventure and look forward to seeing many of you there. Please note that, if you plan to attend, notify Jerry Watson or Larry Hildreth by August 3rd in case you become “stuck” in traffic they can wait for you before departing on a foray. Friday, Aug. 6, 1:00 PM
Leaving from the Redwood Motor Inn parking lot. See accommodations and/or maps for location.

Saturday, Aug. 7, 9:00 AM
Leaving from the Redwood Motor Inn parking lot. Please bring a lunch and beverage with you. For those interested there will be a hunt after lunch.

Sunday, Aug. 8, 10:00 AM
Leaving from the Redwood Motor Inn parking lot. The hunt is expected to end around 1:00 PM.

Note: There will not be a banquet at this event. It is suggested that members meet at one of the restaurants in the area.

Camping

Shady Acres - located 6 miles south of Lewiston on County Rd. 489. Modern restrooms and showers. Tent and RV campsites (RV full hookups). All sites have water and electricity. Showers are available for unregistered guests for a small fee. Two cabins with fully equipped kitchens, sleeps 4 persons each. Phone (800) 357-2494 for rates.

State Forest Campgrounds - Rustic camping is available at two State Forest Campgrounds. One is located at Tee Lake, and about 1.5 miles south of Lewiston off County Rd 489 (follow the signs to campgrounds). The other is at Bear Lake, 3.5 miles west of Lewiston on County Rd. 612, then north 6 miles on Meridian Line Rd. (follow signs to campgrounds)

Lewiston Lodge - Motel & restaurant located on East Twin Lake 2.5 miles south of Lewiston on Fleming Rd. Various sized rooms start at $47.00. Suites & kitchenettes available. Queen-size bed $54.00, two double beds $64.00. Phone: (989)786-2452

North Shore Resort — Located on County Rd. 612 just west of Lewiston. Cabins on West Twin Lake, some with fireplaces, sleep 4 to 10 people. Rates $65.00 to $80.00 per night per cabin (not per Person, with a two-night minimum. Fully equipped kitchens, Sandy beach. Towels and linens included. Each cabin comes with a boat. No Pets.
